April 7, 2010 – Popular Max Papis will be the Newsmaker of the Week on The Race Reporters radio show, Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. EDT, on
Papis is now competing in the Geico Toyota in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck series after stints in Formula One, CART/Champ Car, IRL and sports car racing. He debuted in F1 in 1995 and then came to CART the following year. In 2000, Papis won his first CART race as well as the Daytona 24-hour endurance classic. He had another two Champ Car victories in 2001 and again won Daytona the next season. He teamed with Scott Pruett to take the 2004 Grand-Am sports car title and later became a Chevrolet Corvette factory driver in the ALMS.
